When you make a donation to Concrete Jungle, you are getting the freshest food in town to folks like John Love. John frequently visits our partners at Mercy Community Church to get a hot meal and share in fellowship.

John first heard about Concrete Jungle about six months ago when he was visiting Mercy. He volunteered to help Adam, our Field Manager, chop vegetables at one of our produce education events. John said, “I’m always looking for something different, and this was something different – getting the vegetables and chopping them up as a group and doing a little fellowship with it too. It’s great.”

John told us that he prefers to eat fresh food, but without access to a kitchen, his options are limited. He said, “It’s all about time and money. And my health is number one, but it works on my mind sometimes because I’d rather put something on my stomach versus nothing. I try to make the best decision possible.”

He went on, “But when I’m here, you guys provide the various vegetables that they use to cook with. To get a completely healthy option that still tastes good – it’s great. A lot of people who dwell here don’t have the option of getting in the kitchen a lot of times, and to be offered fresh foods is phenomenal.”

When you make a gift to Concrete Jungle, you're ensuring that individuals facing food-insecurity have access to nutritious, sustaining produce. Can you make a gift to help us feed more folks?
