Your donation will put fruits & veggies on the plates of families facing food insecurity. For every $50 donated, 150 servings of produce are recovered and donated to people in need across our state.
1 in 8 People in Georgia do not get enough to eat. At the same time, as much as 20% of the food growing on our fruits trees and farms is going to waste.
Concrete Jungle connects the dots between food that would otherwise go to waste on fruit trees and farms and Georgians facing food insecurity.
SNAP disruptions only exacerbated an already dire situation in our most vulnerable communities. At Concrete Jungle, we receive daily calls from community agencies seeking more food to meet the surging demand. We do not view this as a temporary situation: rule changes to the SNAP program and high grocery prices are all but guaranteed to drive food insecurity rates even higher in 2026.

John first heard about Concrete Jungle when he was visiting Mercy Community Church for a hot meal and fellowship. He volunteered to help Adam, our Field Manager, chop vegetables at one of our produce education events. John said, “I’m always looking for something different, and this was something different – getting the vegetables and chopping them up as a group and doing a little fellowship with it too. It’s great.”
John told us that he prefers to eat fresh food, but without access to a kitchen, his options are limited. He said, “It’s all about time and money. And my health is number one, but it works on my mind sometimes because I’d rather put something on my stomach versus nothing. I try to make the best decision possible." He went on, “But when I’m here, you guys provide the various vegetables that they use to cook with. To get a completely healthy option that still tastes good – it’s great. A lot of people who dwell here don’t have the option of getting in the kitchen, and to be offered fresh foods is phenomenal.”
