Concrete Jungle started 14 years ago to help harvest and share the unused bounty from the 'city in the forest' with local food pantries and folks in need. I've been a volunteer for years -- picking 80+ lbs of ooey gooey plums in Cabbagetown while 8 months pregnant, delivering fresh produce to families' doorsteps during the pandemic, and helping invest in the organization's growth as a Board member. It's been amazing to be part of this joyful community committed to caring for each other and the abundance of the earth around us.

Concrete Jungle has donated 203,775 lbs of rescued produce so far in 2023 (sweet infographic below!). We also refreshed our mission in 2023 and are feeling energized as we head into a future of more FORAGING, FARMING, and supporting FOOD ACCESS in Georgia. Through everything we're doing, we're striving to donate MORE RESCUED PRODUCE to our neighbors in need. Find out more about the delicious and nutritious work Concrete Jungle does here.

While we're growing, so is the demand. The latest USDA data indicate that food insecurity is rising across the US and in Georgia, especially amongst children. Ensuring access to food - nourishing, local food - is so important.

Please consider supporting Concrete Jungle's important work to bring Georgia's bountiful produce to people in need. It's my birthday - it's the end of the year - it's the holidays - and we can all agree that we need more joyful, equitable, local, nourishing food systems in the world. Whatever motivates you to give, thank you for supporting Concrete Jungle and supporting me!

Much love to you,

Liz

PS - I'm matching gifts made to my fundraiser during my birthday week Dec 17-23 -- oh yeah!!!! -- we're in this together!
